Dr. Hsin-Hung Yeh is a plant pathologist specializing in plant virus research. His work focuses on how plants initiate immune defenses in response to viral infection and explores plant–virus interaction mechanisms with the aim of devising effective nonchemical antiviral strategies. His team integrates molecular virology, genetics, proteomics, metabolomics, biochemistry, and cell biology to link foundational plant disease physiology with broader themes such as sustainable agriculture and food security. He also employs plant viruses as platforms for highvalue protein expression and as tools for functional genomics research. The laboratory’s activities include collecting plant viruses of significant economic importance from the field, establishing accurate diagnostic methods for these viruses, investigating interactions between plants and viruses, and constructing viral vectors to advance plant virology research and apply the findings to crop improvement, disease management and sustainable agricultural practice.
