Dr. Jian You Wang focuses on plant metabolism and plant hormone biology, investigating how strigolactones regulate shoot tillering, root system development, and stress adaptation. His research integrates metabolomics, transcriptomics, and gene-editing technologies to elucidate the mechanisms underlying shoot and root plasticity and plant environmental resilience, and to advance the development of stress-tolerant crops and sustainable agriculture.

Understanding how strigolactones regulate plant adaptation to environmental conditions is a fundamental basis for establishing next-generation agriculture.

This laboratory focuses on plant hormone biology, with particular emphasis on how strigolactones regulate plant development, shoot branching, root system plasticity, and environmental adaptation. We integrate analytical chemistry, molecular biology, metabolomics, and transcriptomics to elucidate regulatory mechanisms in plants under nutrient fluctuations and stress conditions, and to translate research findings into crop improvement and climate-resilient agriculture.
