Congratulations to Dr. Ming-Jung Liu on winning the 2021 Shang-Fa Yang Young Scientist Award!

Assistant Research Fellow Dr. Ming-Jung Liu was awarded the “Academician Shang-Fa Yang Award for Outstanding Young Scholars in the Agricultural Sciences” at the “13th Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Lecture” at Academia Sinica on 3 November, 2021. During the Memorial Lecture, which was sponsored by the Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Foundation, Dr. Liu was awarded a medal and presented her research results in a lecture entitled “Lost in translation? Unveiling hidden translation initiators for plant and plant virus gene expression.” The Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Foundation was established to honor the distinguished career of late Academician Yang and one of its roles is the cultivation of young researchers. The “Academician Shang-Fa Yang Award for Outstanding Young Scholars in the Agricultural Sciences” was established to recognize the potential for academic innovation and important industrial contribution by young domestic scholars. This year the 13th Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Lecture was held over two days on 3 and 4 November 2021 at Academia Sinica and Academia Sinica South Campus.
