Abstract:
Established to commemorate the late Academician Shang-Fa Yang's lifelong dedication to advancing agricultural biotechnology and mentoring young scientists, the Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Educational Foundation annually recognizes an outstanding agricultural scientist with profound global impact. The Foundation is proud to announce that the laureate of this year’s "Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Lecture" is Dr. Alice Y. Cheung, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and newly elected 35th Honorary Academician of Academia Sinica.

To formally honor Dr. Cheung’s exceptional academic achievements, the Foundation will host a grand award ceremony on September 15 at the Academia Sinica Nangang Campus. Furthermore, to foster research exchange between Taiwan and the global agricultural bioscience community, Dr. Cheung will deliver two public academic lectures: the first on September 15 at the Nangang Campus, followed by a second lecture on September 16 at the Academia Sinica South Campus.

Through these in-depth scholarly exchanges, the Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Foundation hopes to inspire and nurture the next generation of cutting-edge agricultural scientists, accelerating the continuous development of agricultural biotechnology in Taiwan and beyond.
