Yao-Cheng Lin is a plant computational genomicist whose research focuses on how plant genomes evolve, adapt, and generate phenotypic diversity. His work integrates comparative genomics, transposable element biology, epigenomics, genome engineering, machine learning, and high-throughput plant phenotyping to study plant–environment interactions and crop resilience. The Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics group studies how plant genomes evolve and shape traits under changing environments. We combine comparative genomics, transposable element biology, genome engineering, machine learning, and high-throughput phenotyping to connect genome variation with plant performance. Our goal is to turn genome-scale data into biological insight and practical tools for crop improvement and climate-resilient agriculture.
