The MS core facility in AS-BCST mainly focuses on the analysis of functional biomolecules and volatile organic compounds in plants and microorganisms. Triple quadrupole- and high resolution mass spectrometry-based platforms (UHPLC-Triple Quadrupole/ Orbitrap Fusion Lumos) are applied to analyte identification and quantification. The mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) platform (MALDI TOF/TOF MS) is used to reveal the spatial distribution of small- and micro-molecules in the biological samples. In addition to regular MS analysis, the core facility is willing to discuss and collaborate with clients to develop novel analytical methods and approaches. The core facility opens to researchers in Academia Sinica, universities, and other research institutions.
