With the sponsor of Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center (Academia Sinica), we are very pleased to welcome you to the International Symposium on Agricultural Biotechnology, to be held on June 12, 2025, at ICC in Tainan.
Through this conference, we bring together 150 experts of agriculture and agro-industry working on agriculture and biotechnology from southeastern countries. We hope to facilitate closer communication between academic and industrial researchers for promoting research and development of policy, regulation, prospecting, and application of animal farming and agritech in Asia Pacific Regions. We particularly encourage and invite scholars, administrators, and entrepreneurs of agriculture to join the conference to discuss and share with us your experience in agricultural biotechnology.
We are anticipating a conference of innovative, challenging presentations and rich, reflective discussions on fundamental issues. Let us create an informative, stimulating and memorable event together!

由於目前世界人口迅速上升，所以預估在2050年時會由現在的70億升高至92億，而民以食為天，因此確保糧食來源的穩定與安全性是很重要的議題。海鮮、家禽和家畜等製品提供人類主要的蛋白質來源，其生產過程的安全性涉及食品安全。然而，為了能提供足夠的食物產量，養殖者開始大規模密集飼養動物(以雞隻為例)，導致飼養環境容易有病原菌傳播。為了減少經濟動物死亡，養殖者大量使用抗生素或其它藥物，造成藥物殘留。嚴重濫用或誤用這些藥物，也會造成病原菌產生抗藥性，衍生公共衛生問題與疾病傳染。因此，農業生技對於動物疾病的預防與治療將成為食安的重要角色。過去肉品抗生素的濫用，導致藥物殘留檢驗日趨嚴謹，甚至飼料中不能使用抗生素。臺灣為台灣農、畜產品的重要生產區域。臺灣植物相豐富，有4800種植物，其中2500種為常用的藥用植物，為植生素重要的原料。因此，中央研究院農業生物科技研究中心主辦，科技部生命科學研究推動中心和行政院農業委員會農業試驗所協辦，針對植生素研發及應用，舉辦〝農業生技研討會〞，邀請國內外的學者與專家進行精闢演講，分享如何利用農業生技，開發具有促進作物和動物健康、腸道健康、抗微生物等特性，減少對農藥及抗生素的依賴，增加糧食安全和食品安全，並減少抗生素抗藥性以及改善人類健康、動物健康與環境健康，是本研討會最重要的目的。同時，利用此研討會介紹國內外農業生技在動物健康保健等產業化的應用，期盼未來透過農業生技，提升農業，進而帶動台灣農業和畜牧業發展，也是本研討會主要的目標。
本研討會為半天的小型國際研討會，將在2025年6月12日在大臺南會展中心舉行，邀請東南亞農業生技專家來台與我們交流和分享東南亞的農業生技發展和市場需求。希望帶動我國的農業和生技產業。議程將以英文為主。歡迎國內外農民，畜牧業者和生技產業業者踴躍參與。
