With the sponsor of Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center (Academia Sinica), and Ministry of Science and Technology Research Promotion Center of Life Sciences (MSTRPC), we are very pleased to welcome you to the Mini-symposium on artificial intelligence and animal health, to be held on September 1, 2023, at Taipei, Taiwan.

Through this conference, we bring together 200 experts of agriculture and agro-industry working on artificial intelligence (AI), animal health, aquaculture and biotechnology from southeastern countries. We hope to facilitate closer communication between academic and industrial researchers for promoting research and development of state-of-the-art technology on AI/IOT, animal health, and aquaculture in Asia Pacific Regions. We particularly encourage and invite scholars, administrators, and entrepreneurs of agro-industry, animal health industry and AI/IOT to join the conference to discuss and share with us your experience in the conservation and prospecting of bioresources.

We are anticipating a conference of innovative, challenging presentations and rich, reflective discussions on fundamental issues. Let us create an informative, stimulating and memorable event together!

Purpose 

In the post-epidemic era, the animal husbandry and aquaculture industries are facing great challenges, including the rise of demand for protein food, extreme climate, production cost, high stocking density of animal farming, infectious diseases and reduction/banning of antibiotic use. The Artificial intelligence (AI) composed of sensors, internet of things (IOT), and processing of big data, and animal health products (AHP) are thought to tackle most of challenges now. To promote protein food security, food safety, One health, and animal welfares, AI and AHP are emerging as a total solution for animal farming and aquaculture. In this one-day symposium, we invited south-eastern Asian experts of animal health and aquaculture and local experts of the AI/IOT, animal science, and animal health industry to share with their visions and experience with the audience. 

South-eastern Asian countries are becoming a hot spot of animal farming and, particularly, aquaculture. We hope to establish communication between academic and industrial researchers for facilitating research and development of AI/IOT technology, animal health, and aquaculture in Asia Pacific Regions. The participants are expected to learn the update on animal framing and aquaculture and exchange the opinions with international and domestic experts. Using this symposium (https://abrc.sinica.edu.tw/2023msaiah/) as a token, we hope to assist the development of Taiwan's animal husbandry, aquaculture as well as animal health industry. Besides, this symposium can attract more international participants from abroad, who can interact with local researchers and farmers, in Taiwan Smart Agriculture Week, held from August 31 to September 2nd , 2023 (https://www.taiwanagriweek.com/en/index.html).
