Research Focus
This core facility was established to facilitate plant transformation related research in Academia Sinica. Our mission including collecting transgenic plant-related materials and information, providing campus-wide and off campus non-profit institutions transformation support, utilizing and improving upon current transformation protocols, establishing stable transformation protocols for additional plant species, educating through training such as technique-related workshops.

Currently we provide Agrobacterium-mediated transformation services of 8 plant species: Arabidopsis, tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum and N. benthamiana), tomato, rice, Petunia, potato and Brachypodium distachyon. Besides, we share the materials culturing/propagating in our lab with researchers. We continuously establish consistent stable transformation protocols for new model plant such as Setaria, etc.
