Improvement of clonal micropropagation in Phalaenopsis orchids

This invention describes the protocol of flower stalk nodal bud-based multiple shoot induction of Phalaenopsis orchids. This methodology enables enhancement of shoot regeneration efficiency and seedling quality, bypasses the developing effort on optimizing culture medium for individual orchid cultivars, and greatly improves the micropropagation efficiency of elite Phalaenopsis cultivars. This established methodology provides an efficient platform for mass production of seedlings of elite Phalaenopsis orchids.
