[Masashi Yamada Lab] Postdoc position opening
The post-doc position in Biotechnology Center in Southern Taiwan, Academia Sinica (Tainan) is available to study the function of Root Meristem Growth Factor 1 (RGF1) peptide in root developmental zones and the molecular mechanism of root developmental zones to adapt to abiotic stress. The successful candidates will be actively participating in one of the following projects.
1.Investigation of the regulation mechanism of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in the specific root developmental zones by RGF1 peptide.

2.Elucidation of the regulation mechanism of ROS and alternatively spliced isoforms during root adaptation to abiotic stress.
A candidate with transcriptome, metabolome, proteomics, and biochemistry backgrounds is strongly desired for this position. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as good English speaking, reading, and writing skills. Knowledge in Chinese/Mandarin is not required.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and based on the Academia Sinica’s scale. Our institute is located in Tainan (south part of Taiwan). Living expenses in Tainan are reasonable. Tainan's climate is warm all year round and the security is very good. The new building of our institute will be completed in next summer near to the Tainan station of Taiwan High-Speed Rail. Our research facilities are state-of-art levels.

Faculty Positions in Biotechnology Center in Southern Taiwan of Agricultural Biotechnology Research
Applications are invited for multiple tenure-track research fellow positions or specialists in Biotechnology Center in Southern Taiwan of Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center, Academia Sinica, Taiwan (AS-BCST). The successful candidates are expected to develop a rigorous research program in the thematic research fields of agricultural biotechnology, including but not limited to plant stress, plant nutrients, agromicrobiology, crop systems biology, translational agricultural research, and metabolic engineering.
The AS-BCST located in Tainan was established to cultivate a multidisciplinary approach to research, bringing constant innovation and techniques to the development of biotechnology industry that help in solving the problem of agriculture and foster the development of Bio-Agricultural industry in Taiwan. The current research programs focus on crop genomics & microbiota, molecular breeding for important agricultural traits, and adaptive strategy to environmental changes, systems biology & functional foods, and other mission-oriented basic researches.
