Lab Manager/Research Assistant (實驗室管理者/研究助理)

Starting Date
November 2018

Responsibilities
The position involves lab maintenance and administration, product ordering, assistance with experiments. (工作內容將包含實驗室管理及相關行政作業,物品採購及協助實驗)

Requirements
1.A Native Chinese speaker with good English speaking and writing skills
(英文聽說讀寫流利)

2.Basic molecular biology skill.
It is not necessary, but preferable to have experience working on plant genetics or molecular biology. (基礎分子生物技術,非必要,但如有植物基因或分子生物相關工作經驗者尤佳。)

3.Basic computer skill (基本電腦技能)

Salary
According to the regulation of Academia Sinica (依據中研院支薪標準)

研究內容(Research topic):
研究具藥理活性之植物天然物的生合成途徑,內容包括二次代謝物之萃取及分析、基因克隆、靜默或異源蛋白質或酵素表達與功能分析。
Job contents: metabolite profiling of secondary metabolites; gene cloning, expression, functional validation of candidate genes / enzymes in planta or overexpressed in heterologous microbial system.

Accepting graduate students from MBAS/TIGP, Translational Medicine, and CBDD

To join our research, the Hsiao Lab offers positions to domestic or international degree-seeking graduate students and long-term interns fully participating undergraduate students. Research fields include cutting-edge biology in prostate cancer, tumor metastasis, phytomedicine, biologics metabolomics and transcriptomics.

Postdoctoral Fellow (Life science and/or Pharmacology)

We are seeking a motivated scientist with experience working with diabetes and/or pharmacology in cells and animal models. Our research focuses on understanding how the protein disulfide isomerases contribute to diabetes pathology, with a focus on beta cell pathogenesis.
Academia Sinica has a great ambiance for scientific research locally and internationally. Our research team combines expertise in basic cellular and animal studies, imaging and clinical trials and supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Council fo Agriculture, Taiwan.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) with a life science background strongly preferred. Having an experience working with cells and knockout mice models and pharmacology is an advantage. In addition, the candidate will have the responsibility of supervising students and technicians in the lab.

Ph. D. students (Life science)

We are seeking motivated Ph.D. students who are interested in diabetes and natural products. Inhibitors of protein disulfide isomerases will be developed in an attempt to treat the disease.

[Hsin-Hun Yeh Lab] Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Assistant Position Open

Research Interests:
Plant viruses cause devastating diseases on plants and threaten our food security. However, besides being pathogen, plant viruses also can be applied as tools for valuable protein expression or gene functional assay in plants. The interests of my laboratory are mainly focused on studying plant virology and plant-virus interaction, developing antiviral strategies and application of viral vectors for genome wide gene functional analysis. Our efforts include collection of economically important plant viruses from field, develop methods for viral disease diagnosis, study virus-plant interactions for antiviral purpose, and establish viral vector(s) for research tools. A multidisciplinary approach including genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and functional genomics have been established and applied in our laboratory.

Qualifications:
Candidates familiar with Virology, Molecular Biology, Plant Genetic, or experienced in next generation sequencing or microarray study are preferred.
